Mallalli Falls - nature's melodious  symphony

The return from Sakleshpur was the very route I had wanted to do; Saklesphura - Hethur - Kudrasthe. From here, I continued onward to Bisle Ghat and deviated at Patla to visit a waterfall around the corner. The last stretch before reaching the Kundalli junction (where the road from Somwarpet joins) from Kudraste is very narrow, with hardly any room for a bus to go. It is quite an escapade/adventure/experience coming head-on with a KSRTC bus at a corner on these narrow winding roads.

The Kumaradhara River flows through the forest and plunges amongst rocks and boulders, forming the glorious Mallalli Falls. The water eventually merges with the Nethravati River downhill, and together, they flow to the Arabian Sea. The waterfall is in a scenic location, quite dramatic, with the Brahmagiri mountain ranges on all sides.

It is situated in the Somwarpet region of Coorg district and is equidistant from Madikeri and Sakleshpur. There is an entry fee of Rs.20 (not sure if it is for the vehicle or person). Satiate the adrenaline rush and soak in the stunning landscape by taking the concrete steps to the bottom of the falls and back. The effort is worth it!
