Land of chrysanthemums
The route to KR Pete, filled with fields full of vibrant yellow chrysanthemums, is a sight to behold. The scant sunlight peeking through the fog made the scene magical. While some freshly sown farms had peacocks and peahens walking through them, others had stacks of harvested hay tucked in bundles.

On a foggy winter morning, I set off early so as not to miss the winterscape of the hinterlands. Today's destination was more of a reference point, and the ride was the focal point. On another trip, we had come through KR Pete, but it being night, I couldn't really see anything. It was a nice interior route, was one thing I was sure about. I ended up doing a loop, taking truly interior (broken) roads - with just locals going about their daily routine - after crossing the KRS on the onward journey, and the return was via KRS road after a deviation from Arsikere-Mysore Road.
A quaint little temple on the side of the road, just after the KRS dam, is in a scenic location with the irrigation channel carrying water by its side. After travelling through the route umpteen times, I finally got off the road and stopped here for a while.
